The article analyzes the portrait characteristics of Olexandra Sokolovska in biographical novel “Marusia”
by V. Shkliar. The author of research traces out polyphonic nature of different approaches to portraitmaking
of inner and outer world of legendary Marusia. Here the portrait is represented as deconcentrated,
detailed. It seems to consist of separate elements which partly interlace and the other ones supply and
deepen the notion of fiction image of a person being a character in a literary work.
