LITERATURE AND INTERCULTURAL DISCOURSE

The article examines the phenomenon of cultural diversification, regarded here in the light of changes
connected with globalization and transcultural situation. Contemporary culture contains a distinct
tendency towards tolerance and openness with respect to a different culture. The formation of a new
cultural system has become topical in the context of globalization. Globalization has clearly demonstrated
the existence of a wide variety of sociocultural traditions and interaction norms. The phenomenon
of the “new national problem” has a significant impact on the level of tolerance. In the age
of multiculturalism, special attention is given to the question of highlighting the prestige of every
culture.
In particular, the article focuses on literary Francophonie. Its contemporary condition and perspectives
of its development are investigated in the light of globalization and intercultural interaction which
underlies the activity of contemporary intercultural communication. The general characterization of
French-language literature undertaken in the article takes into account the position of an author as an
intercultural migrant
